Vancleave Public Library Invites Young Artists to “Color Our World” Youth Art Exhibit – Summer 2025

The Vancleave Public Library is excited to host a Youth Art Exhibit as part of its 2025 Summer Library Program theme: “Color Our World.” This vibrant community display will run from June 1 through July 31, showcasing the incredible creativity of local youth ages 3 to 17.

🎨 Call for Submissions:
Young artists are invited to submit original artwork in any format: canvas, paper, or 3-dimensional. Each piece should include the artist’s name, age, and a contact phone number on the back.

All artwork will be displayed in the library with care. Please note: While pieces will be placed out of reach and a “Do Not Touch” sign will be posted, the library is not responsible for loss or damage.

Vancleave Public Library Hosts Weekly Summer Story Time Series

Vancleave, MS – The Vancleave Public Library invites families to dive into imagination and creativity with Summer Library Story Time, taking place every Thursday at 10:00 AM beginning June 5th through July 10th.

This engaging six-week series is perfect for children and families looking to explore new themes each week through stories, activities, and early literacy fun. Each session is designed to celebrate creativity while fostering a love of reading and learning.

Vancleave Public Library Offers Free Hands-On Cooking Matters® Classes for Adults

VANCLEAVE, MS – The Vancleave Public Library is partnering with Mississippi State University Extension to present Cooking Matters®, a six-week hands-on course designed to help adults prepare healthy, affordable meals for their families.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., June 25 through July 30 at the Vancleave Public Library. Each weekly session is led by trained educators and covers essential skills like reading food labels, using a knife safely, cutting up a whole chicken, and more.

Participants also receive free groceries to take home after the first four classes to practice what they’ve learned.
