Local History Book Presentation at Ocean Springs Municipal Library
Ocean Springs, MS —The Ocean Springs Municipal Library invites the community to a special Local History Book Presentation featuring authors Ryan Starrett and Josh Foreman, creators of the new title Pirates, Raiders & Invaders of the Gulf Coast.
The presentation will take place on Saturday, December 13 at 12:00 p.m.
Their book, published by Arcadia Publishing, explores a thrilling historical landscape filled with:
- French adventurers
- English colonists
- Spanish dons
- American filibusters
- Indian warriors
- African maroons
- Pirate outlaws
Together, Foreman and Starrett chart a Gulf Coast odyssey that brings to life centuries of dramatic encounters, conflicts, and legends that shaped the region.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the research behind the book, hear stories that didn’t make the final pages, and engage with the authors during a Q&A.
The event is free and open to the public.
Ocean Springs Municipal Library Launches Monday Mystery Society
Ocean Springs, MS —The Ocean Springs Municipal Library is thrilled to announce the launch of the Monday Mystery Society, a new monthly gathering for mystery lovers, puzzle solvers, and armchair detectives.
Beginning Monday, December 15 from 6:00–8:00 p.m., the group will meet at The Traveler, located inside the Walter Anderson Museum of Art at 1007 Joseph Street in Ocean Springs.
Each month, participants will work together to unravel thrilling mysteries while enjoying a themed menu and drinks curated by The Traveler. The event is free and ticketed, with food and beverages available for purchase.
Tickets may be picked up at the Ocean Springs Municipal Library. Attendees are encouraged to secure their spot early, as seating is limited. “We look forward to seeing you,” the library shares. “And good luck, Detective.”
Christmas Cookie Make & Take at Ocean Springs Municipal Library
Ocean Springs, MS — The Ocean Springs Municipal Library invites families and community members to enjoy a sweet, festive afternoon at the Christmas Cookie Make & Take event on Saturday, December 20, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Participants will decorate their own holiday cookies and take home their creations — perfect for gifting, sharing, or enjoying on the spot. This fun, hands-on activity is suitable for all ages and is guaranteed to add a little extra cheer to the season.
Registration is required, as supplies are limited. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ocean Springs Municipal Library.

Board Game Exchange at Ocean Springs Municipal Library

Sit, Stay and Read!
OCEAN SPRINGS, MS __You are invited to bring your children to the Ocean Springs Municipal Library on the last Saturday of the month to participate in our “Sit, Stay, Read!” program. This program, sponsored by Visiting Pet Teams of South Mississippi, allows children to read to licensed therapy dogs and is designed to boost confidence in early and young readers. Memory Cafe for Seniors
