The Moss Point Excel By 5 Coalition is committed to helping our community’s youngest learners enter kindergarten ready to learn, grow, and succeed. Through collaboration among families, educators, community organizations, and local partners, the coalition connects families with activities and resources that strengthen the skills children need before their first day of school.

Families are encouraged to explore the Kindergarten Readiness Calendar, featuring simple, engaging activities that can be incorporated into everyday learning at home.

The coalition is also excited to introduce Math Monday, a new social media campaign highlighting fun and practical math activities for young children each week. As schools across Mississippi place increased emphasis on mathematics instruction and the important role early math skills play in kindergarten readiness, Moss Point Excel By 5 is responding by helping families build those skills before children enter the classroom.

From counting and sorting to recognizing shapes, patterns, sizes, and numbers, early math can happen anywhere—and parents and caregivers are a child’s first and most important teachers.
