Pascagoula Public Library Set to Reopen August 18th After Major Renovation
PASCAGOULA, MS — The Jackson-George Regional Library System is thrilled to announce the soft reopening of the Pascagoula Public Library on Monday, August 18, 2025, following a comprehensive 14-month renovation. The project, totaling $4.2 million, was funded by the City of Pascagoula and Jackson County, with the City contributing $1.05 million toward the transformation.
Designed by Hoppy Allred of Allred Stolarski Architects and managed by DNP, Inc., the extensive renovation has brought exciting changes to the facility, including:
* A complete roof replacement
* A new elevator for long-term reliability
* Full HVAC system replacement
* New skylight glass installations
* Remodeled public restrooms
* New interior finishes and flooring
* Improvements to parking and sidewalks
As we move back in and complete final preparations, some services may be limited during the soft reopening period. Patrons are encouraged to check in with staff and follow updates as full services return.
Library Director Angela Stewart shared, “This renovation isn’t just about repairs, it’s about reimagining what a modern library can be. We’re proud to welcome the community back to a space built for learning, exploring, and connecting.”
In addition to welcoming back the Singing River Genealogy & Local History Library and the Law Library, visitors will be delighted by two exciting new additions: a colorful, fully reimagined Children’s Library and a state-of-the-art Audio Video Lab designed for creativity, content creation, and media exploration.
A grand reopening and ribbon-cutting celebration will be announced in the coming weeks.
