Lucedale-George County Public Library Announces Adult Summer Programs
LUCEDALE, MS — Lucedale-George County Public Library invites adults to “Unearth a Story” this June with a series of engaging Thursday evening programs designed to inspire creativity, exploration, and local discovery.
Held throughout June at 4:30 PM, the library’s Adult Summer Library Programs offer a variety of hands-on experiences and educational activities for adults of all interests.
Program Schedule:
🪴 June 4 — Clay Through Time: Ancient to Modern Pottery
Learn how pottery was created, decorated, and uncovered through archaeological digs before crafting your own polymer clay creation. No experience necessary, and all supplies are provided.
🎨 June 11 — The Painting Pit: Unearth, Discover, Create
Guest artist Candice Defatta from the George County Chamber of Commerce Art Committee will guide participants step-by-step in painting their own masterpiece. Supplies provided — just bring your imagination!
🧭 June 18 — Decode & Dig In: Geocaching Basics
Discover the modern treasure hunt of geocaching and learn how to search for hidden caches using real-world clues. Perfect for beginners and seasoned explorers alike.
🏛️ June 25 — Night at the Museum (6:00–7:30 PM)
Sponsored by the Lucedale-George County Historical Society & Museum, this special adults-only evening offers exclusive access to exhibits and the opportunity to meet exhibit creators. Tickets are free, but pre-registration is required.
Participants are encouraged to call or visit the library to sign up for programs.
