East Central Public Library Invites Students to Share Gratitude in “Be Thankful” Essay Contest
HURLEY, MS – East Central Public Library invites students in grades 5–12 to participate in the Be Thankful Essay Contest, an opportunity to reflect on gratitude and share what they are most thankful for.
Participants are encouraged to write a 1–3-page essay on the theme: “What I Am Thankful For…” Essays may be typed or handwritten but should be double spaced and clearly readable. Submissions are due by Monday, November 10, 2025. The contest is open to all area schools and homeschoolers, giving every student the chance to express their appreciation for family, friends, faith, school, or any part of their lives that inspires gratitude.
Winners from each grade level will be announced at a public reception on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Children’s Area of the library. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate the creativity and thankfulness of local students.
