Lucedale-George County Public Library Launches Library Club for Future Volunteers
LUCEDALE, Miss. – Young library enthusiasts are invited to become part of something special by joining the Library Club at Lucedale-George County Public Library. Designed for children who are interested in volunteering but aren't yet old enough for the library's volunteer program, Library Club offers a fun, hands-on introduction to library service.
Meeting on the fourth Wednesday of each month, participants will explore what it takes to keep a library running while developing responsibility, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Library Club members will learn how to:
* Shelve and organize books
* Use library resources
* Create engaging book displays
* Help maintain library spaces
Of course, no club meeting would be complete without snacks! Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Library Club is free to attend and offers children a unique opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and discover the many ways libraries serve their communities.
