Lucedale/George County Public Library Announces 2026 Summer Library Program: “Unearth A Story”
LUCEDALE, MS — The Lucedale/George County Public Library is inviting children and families to discover a summer full of creativity, storytelling, and adventure during the 2026 Summer Library Program, “Unearth A Story.”
Beginning Monday, June 8, 2026, elementary students can attend exciting weekly programs every Monday at 10 a.m. featuring music, storytelling, science, wildlife encounters, and interactive educational fun designed to inspire young readers throughout the summer.
This year’s “Unearth A Story” theme encourages children to explore new worlds through books while earning prizes and participating in engaging library activities.
2026 Program Schedule
• June 8 – Addie May’s Spotlight Elite Dance Company presents “Dino Dance”
• June 15 – “A Story, A Song” Storytelling Program
• June 22 – Mississippi Museum of Natural Science featuring Conservation Educator Meaghan Huseman
• June 29 – Freedom Ranch Wildlife Center
Registration for the Summer Library Program begins May 30, 2026.
The library will also host Preschool Programs every Tuesday at 10 a.m., providing younger children with fun literacy activities and opportunities for early learning.
“All programs are free and open to the public,” library staff shared. “We encourage families to spend the summer reading together, discovering new interests, and enjoying the educational experiences the library provides.”
