East Central’s 2026 Summer Library Program: “Unearth a Story”
Hurley, MS — The Jackson-George Regional Library System (JGRLS) is excited to announce its 2026 Summer Library Program, themed “Unearth a Story.” This free, family-friendly initiative encourages readers of all ages to explore books, participate in engaging programs, and earn prizes throughout the summer.
Registration opens May 30, 2026, with programs officially beginning June 8, 2026, across all JGRLS branches.
This year’s theme invites the community to dig into stories, history, science, and creativity through a variety of interactive events and performances. Highlights of the program include:
- June 8: Addie May’s Spotlight Elite Dance
- June 9–11: White Tiger Lion Dance Team
- June 15–18: Storytelling program, “A Story, A Song”
- June 22, 23, 25: Museum of Natural Science visits
- June 24: Walter Anderson Museum of Art
- June 29–July 2: Freedom Ranch Wildlife Center
All programs are completely free, and participants are encouraged to read books and earn prizes throughout the summer.
