Libraries offer Spooktacular Tales events for Kids in October!

The Jackson-George Regional Library System will present special “Spooktacular Tales” storytime shows at branch libraries throughout Jackson and George counties.
“These family-friendly events are great for our preschoolers and school age kids. It will be a great show for the whole family,” said youth services coordinator Bethany Carlisle. “We’re planning this event with young children in mind - nothing scary - that will last about 30 minutes. We’ll hand out treats and everyone will have a good time,” she said.

Carlisle suggests that children wear their favorite Halloween costumes or bring a special bedtime pal for the shows.

Young people everywhere share a passion for play. This summer, all branches of the Jackson-George Regional Library System will host a variety of free programs that will explore sports, games, and movement through books, activities, science experiments, art projects, and more.

In addition to enjoying playing together, your patrons will gain knowledge and understanding of various sports and games, including some they’ve never heard of before. They’ll have the opportunity to challenge themselves, try new things, and work together to set records.

Fitness and sports-based programs and events will give children of all ages the opportunity for hands-on learning. Every child, whether a sports fan or not, is sure to enjoy this summer’s program.

Weekly storytimes for preschoolers are scheduled at all our libraries. Check with the library nearest you for the exact day and time.
